Vivek told in this interview that when he went to talk to the director of the film Vishal Bhardwaj about the character of Laganda Tyagi. So he explained to him that he was too young for this character and that Langra Tyagi character needed an older and more mature face. Vivek had never done such a negative character till then. Vivek felt that the character of ‘Langda Tyagi’ was colourful. When he came to know that Vishal was considering Saif for this role, he was also very jealous of Saif at that time.
In his interview, Vivek further says, I believe that the roles are not small but the actors are small. Vivek says that it is good that I did the role of Keshav Upadhyay otherwise I would have missed a lot. Vishal Bhardwaj’s ‘Omkara’ featured Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ajay Devgn, Bipasha Basu, Saif Ali Khan, Vivek Oberoi in the lead roles. The film got very good response from the audience and film critics.
