30 people cheated of 12 crores on the pretext of shop in mall, director couple arrested

Director couple of a company have been arrested for cheating crores of rupees by pretending to give shop. They have been identified as Rita Dixit and Vijay Kant Dixit, residents of JP Green, Pari Chowk, Greater Noida. The Economic Offenses Wing (EOW) claims that the accused duped 30 people to the tune of Rs 12 crore.

There was a complaint of fraud last year
Economic Offenses Wing Additional Commissioner of Police R. Of. Singh told that both were directors of JC World Hospitality Private Limited. Other victims, including Dhirendra Nath, had complained of fraud against them in 2020. He told that he had booked two shops in the company’s World Mall project, which was started in 2014.

Shops were to be given in Sector-128 Noida
Under this, shops were to be given in Jaypee Greens Wish Town Sector-128 Noida. An amount of more than two and a half crores was given to the company in several installments. The company had claimed possession of the shops within 30 months from the date of allotment letter. No work was being done there for a year and a half. The directors were talked about in this matter, then they kept procrastinating.

Application for approval of building plan in 2015
During investigation, the EOW found that the company had applied for approval of the building plan to the Noida Authority in 2015. It was returned to the company with some objections and the authority directed to provide certain documents. It was rejected as the company did not respond within the stipulated period. Investigation revealed that the couple are promoters, directors and shareholders of the company. The police team arrested the couple on Monday.
