The decision on the bail of standup comedians Munavvar Farooqui and Nalin Yadav in the case of insulting Hindu deities will now take place a week later. The case was scheduled to be heard in the High Court on Friday, but it was deferred for a week due to the police not presenting the case diary.
Comedian Munavvar Farooqui was accused of instigating religious sentiments by insulting Hindu gods and goddesses by the Hind Rakshak Sangathan of Indore. After this, the police registered a case including Farooqui and presented them in the court from where everyone was sent to jail.

On Friday, advocate Vivek Tankha of the Supreme Court came to favor Munawar Farooqui, but the bail hearing was postponed by a week after the Tukoganj police did not present the case diary. Farukhi’s lawyer Anshuman Srivastava said that the police had registered the case under political pressure. Srivastava said that Farooqui did not perform in a comedy show in Indore nor did any such act hurt religious sentiments.
