If sources are to be believed, Maharashtra DGP Sanjay Pandey has written a letter to Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray expressing his inability to investigate former police commissioner Parambir Singh. Let us tell you that the Thackeray government ordered the investigation of Parambir Singh, the former home minister, Anil Deshmukh, who had imposed a weekly recovery, to the state’s DGP Sanjay Pandey. In such circumstances, now another officer will have to be appointed for this investigation.

Who is Sanjay Pandey
Sanjay Pandey is a 1986 batch senior IPS officer of Maharashtra. Recently, he has been made the General Manager of Police of Maharashtra. Even after being a senior state official, he was kept away from important postings. For which he had written a letter to the CM even before this.

Parambir’s letter bomb
Former Mumbai police commissioner Parambir Singh had accused former Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of extorting Rs 100 crore a week. This allegation was made by Singh when he was removed from the post of Commissioner of Mumbai to become DG Homeguard. Parambir Singh wrote in the letter that Anil Deshmukh used to give direct weeks of recovery to several police officers, including Sachin Waze.

Deshmukh was relieved
Following these allegations, the Bombay High Court, while hearing a petition filed against Deshmukh, ordered a CBI inquiry against him. After which Deshmukh had to resign from his post due to pressure from BJP.
