New Delhi: The Delhi Police investigation has now turned towards the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) in the case of two alleged bookies caught during an Indian Premier League (IPL) match on May 2 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in the capital. The peon Balam Singh has appeared before the investigating agency. Another DDCA employee has been named in the case of Accreditation Card. The police are also looking for the books, which both the alleged bookies were giving information about the ball to ball match from the stadium. Both the bookies are constantly trying to get bail from the court, but are unable to meet.

Delhi Police did not succeed in proving betting
Sources said that Balam Singh has appeared before the Special Cell. During interrogation, he said that he came by giving an accreditation card at the behest of another employee. The investigating agency had therefore sent a notice to the DDCA seeking information on the names of employees and officers involved in the process of making accreditation cards. The 49 cards of the housekeeping company and 10 cards of the medical staff have been messed up. The cell, after analyzing the response of the DDCA, will issue notice to its employees for questioning. Balam is currently being described as a corona victim.

How did sports betting happen under DDCA’s nose?
Accused bookie Manish Kansal of Jalandhar and Krishna Garg of Swaroop Nagar in Delhi were caught on May 2 after the match between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad was over. Krishna had an accreditation card issued for the Junior Assistant of the Health Department of South MCD. Accreditation card issued for the housekeeping company IBS Facility Management was recovered from Manish. Through this, both had entered the stadium in IPL matches played on 28, 29 April and 2, 3 May. In the investigation, it was found that both are bookies, who were giving information about the ball to ball match to the bookies sitting outside.

Police have also recovered two cars from the accused, one of which is a person named Gaurav of Gurgaon. The IBS company doing cleaning work at DDCA is also from Gurgaon. In the investigation, it was found that both the arrested bookies stayed in a hotel in Faridabad, from where the Jaitley stadium used to come for the IPL match. From here Junkhar’s bookie Sandeep, Delhi-NCR’s Harmeet and Gaurav used to give ball to ball information. There is a difference of about one ball in the upcoming matches on the field and on TV. The alleged syndicate was taking advantage of this. The police is engaged in disclosing this nexus within and outside the DDCA.
