Chief Justice of the Supreme Court NV Ramana said that Justice Ashok Bhushan will always be remembered for his judgment. Justice Ashok Bhushan is retiring on July 4. Wednesday was his last working day as a justice in the Supreme Court. The Chief Justice said these things in the Farewell Speech on this occasion.
Justice Bhushan is going to Allahabad to attend his mother’s funeral in Allahabad and due to this he will not be able to attend the court for the last few days. Justice Bhushan has given historic judgments in many other cases ranging from Ram Mandir case.
Chief Justice Ramana said that recently Justice Bhushan had rightly said that judges are always known for their judgments. Judgment is the best criterion to test a judge. Justice Ashok Bhushan will always be remembered for his judgment. Justice Bhushan’s journey has been excellent. The approach of humanity is visible in his judgment. His contribution is commendable. On this occasion, Justice Bhushan himself said that I am proud that I was a part of the Supreme Court. Praising the bar, Bhushan said that the contribution of the bar is more in whatever judgments are made.
The Attorney General said on this occasion that Justice Bhushan has given the best decision for the welfare of migrant laborers on Tuesday. It is sad that he is retiring. Vikas Singh, President of the Supreme Court Bar Association, said that Justice Bhushan has a very gentle personality. Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that his smiling face will always be remembered during the court hearings.
Justice Ashok Bhushan gave many historic decisions as a Justice in the Supreme Court. Justice Ashok Bhushan was also a part of the judgment delivered by the five judges in the Ram Mandir-Babri Masjid land dispute case.
Ashok Bhushan was born on 5 July 1956. He was born in Jaunpur, UP. He graduated in 1975 and then did law from Allahabad University in 1979. After this, on 6 April 1979, he started practicing in Civil Law. He was later made a Justice of the High Court. On 24 April 2001, he was made a permanent judge and then on 10 July 2014, he was made a Justice of the Kerala High Court and then on 26 March 2015, the Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court was made. On 13 May 2016, he was made a Justice of the Supreme Court.
