A case of disappearance of ten girls has come to light from a shelter home in Dwarka area. Police is looking for all of them. Police have registered a case under various sections including kidnapping. But the police say that these ten girls were accompanied by two more girls, who were later found injured. These injured girls told the police that they were also running away from the shelter home along with those ten girls but they got injured while running.

DCP Dwarka Santosh Kumar Meena said that on March 19, the Kamla Bazar police station had rescued 12 girls from a kotha in GB Road. All the rescued girls were kept in a critical care center by the Child Welfare Committee. This shelter home is three storeyed and these girls were kept on the third floor. According to the information received, on May 25, 2021, in the shelter home, all 12 girls tied the sheets in the place where the exhaust fan was installed in the room on the third floor. Along this wall is a ruined one-storey building. With the help of the sheet, the girls came down on the roof of this one-floor building. While getting down, two girls fell down due to slipping of sheets and got injured. After this, the remaining ten girls fled leaving them both. After about half an hour, the staff present in the shelter home came to know about it. After this the police was informed. Dwarka Sector-23 Police Station got both the injured admitted to Safdarjung for treatment.

Girls used to feel restricted in the shelter home
According to police sources, these two girls have told the police that they felt confined in this shelter home and wanted to breathe a sigh of freedom. That’s why she all wanted to run away from here. However, after treatment, these girls have now been shifted by the Child Welfare Committee elsewhere. According to the information received from the sources, to find out the age of the girls, their bone marrow test was done, after which it became clear that all these girls are adults.

When the girls were escaping here, the security personnel were also not present on the spot, only the injured girls told the officials of the shelter home about the escaped girls.
