Prakash Javadekar said, ‘We have received a lot of complaints against some web series available on OTT platforms. Films and serials released on OTT platforms, digital newspapers, cable television networks (Regulation) Act or Censor Board are not covered. Soon some guidelines will be issued to regulate them all.
Please tell that a large number of people had also opposed the recent web series ‘Tandava’. An FIR was also filed against the makers of the web series in several states. The web series has been accused of hurting Hindu sentiments. Many politicians have also expressed their displeasure on the web series.
Prakash Javadekar also said that from February 1, cinemas across the country will be allowed to operate with 100 per cent viewer capacity following the safety norms of Kovid-19. The latest Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) released by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on Sunday includes keeping sufficient distance between them, essentially masking, freeing the auditorium after every screening.
