New Delhi.
After entering the electric vehicle space with the Nexon EV, Tata Motors has shifted its focus to the CNG segment. The company on Tuesday said that it will launch CNG variants on some of its offerings in the country.

Addressing the media, Tata Motors’ PVBU Shailesh Chandra said, “This fiscal we are going to launch CNG vehicles as we need people who want fuel efficient cars.” He further added that the Tiago CNG captured by Tata appears to be a mid-trim variant with new multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the Tigor prototype was a lower-variant as it has steel rims.

The company has not yet clarified which of the Tata cars will have CNG variants available. However, the company has made it very clear that Tiago and Tigor can definitely be considered for this variant.

The Tiago CNG is a mid-trim variant variant that gets new multi-spoke alloy wheels, while the Tigor prototype is the lower-variant as it gets steel rims. These cars continue to get the tri-arrow theme on the front grille, projector headlamps, LED DRLs, fog lamps, shark fin antenna, LED high mount stop lamps, LED taillights and much more. In such a situation, it is expected that the cabin of the car will remain the same as before.

It is expected that the Tata Tiago CNG (Tata Tiago CNG) and Tata Tigor CNG (Tata Tigor CNG) will be powered by the same 1.2-litre petrol engines that were launched in January 2020.

According to reports, manual transmission will be available in both these cars, but Tata can surprise customers by including automatic transmission in it. If this happens then definitely the company can increase the prices of these cars, as currently none of the cars available in the market are offering such combinations.
