Bumper purchase of Hyundai cars in India, sales up 23.8% in January

Hyundai Motor India has presented a sales report for January 2021, where the company’s sales grew by 23.8 percent year-on-year. In a communication sent to the stock markets, Hyundai Motor has said that in December 2021, a total of 52,005 units were sold in the Indian market. Whereas, in January 2019, the company sold 42,002 units in the domestic market. Comparing this to December 2020, the company’s sales have registered a growth of 10 per cent. Explain that in December 2020, a total of 47,400 vehicles were sold in the Indian market.

Exports down 19 percent

Hyundai’s domestic market may have increased sales, but the company’s exports have declined. In January 2021, the company sold a total of 8,100 units outside India. Whereas, in January 2020, the company exported 10,000 vehicles. The company’s exports declined by 19 percent in January 2021 as compared to January 2020.

Demand was also increased in December

Earlier, in December 2020, Hyundai Motor India sold 47,400 vehicles in the Indian market. Whereas, in December 2019, the company had a total of 37,953 units of sales. The company’s sales were up 24.89 percent in December 2020 as compared to December 2019. However, the company’s sales were down 2.9 percent in December 2020 as compared to the month of November. Let us know that in November 2020, Hyundai’s 48,800 units were sold in the domestic market. This month, the company set a new record, where Hyundai never sold so many vehicles in the Indian market in November.

Exports also increased in December

In December 2020, Hyundai Motor India exported a total of 19,350 units outside India. Whereas, in December 2019, Hyundai exported 12,182 vehicles. Hyundai’s exports registered a 2.9 percent increase in December 2020 as compared to December 2019.
