Arun Singh said during a conversation with the media in Delhi, ‘I will not say anything right now. The decision regarding the next Chief Minister will be taken in the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Party and the Party Legislature Party. When asked when is the meeting likely to be held? He said that he cannot say anything at this time. When asked about the reasons behind Yeddyurappa’s resignation, Singh said that he himself has already told about it. Yeddyurappa thanked PM Modi
Yeddyurappa resigned as the Chief Minister of Karnataka on Tuesday. Earlier, Yediyurappa thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP National President JP Nadda for giving him the opportunity to serve as Chief Minister for two years despite being over 75 years of age.
‘No pressure, resigned voluntarily’
While resigning, Yeddyurappa said that there was no pressure on him from the central leadership. He has voluntarily stepped down to make way for others to act as Chief Minister. I will not make any proposal on who should be the next Chief Minister, it is for the high command to decide. Whatever they choose, I will cooperate and work together. I don’t want to name anyone.
