The opposition members are besieging the government on some other issues including the Pegasus espionage case, the subject of three agricultural laws. The opposition says that why the government does not want to discuss these issues. Shashi Tharoor, chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on IT, said the government has not mentioned ‘Pegasus’ in this week’s agenda. Apart from this, she does not want to speak in the Lok Sabha on corona management, vaccine policy and increase in fuel prices.

Leader of Opposition in Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge has given adjournment notice to Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu on Pegasus issue. Said that Question Hour, Zero Hour and other business should be suspended. This topic should be discussed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Home Minister Amit Shah.

Proceedings took place in the Lok Sabha for some time on Monday morning. But, as soon as Birla asked to start the Question Hour, members of some opposition parties, including the Congress, started raising slogans in support of their respective demands. Some members were carrying placards in their hands. Opposition members started raising slogans of ‘Stop the dictatorship’. Birla proceeded with the proceedings of the Question Hour in the midst of the noise. During this, some members asked supplementary questions and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman gave their answers. However, the members’ commotion continued. Seeing the arrangement not being made, the Speaker of the Lok Sabha adjourned the proceedings of the House.

Why is the opposition adamant
The opposition clearly says that the government wants to suppress their voice. He wants discussion on Pegasus espionage case, three new agricultural laws, corona management, vaccine policy and some other issues. Politics has heated up on these issues. On Monday, former Congress President Rahul Gandhi reached Parliament by driving a tractor. He demanded the withdrawal of agricultural laws. The opposition says that the government is cutting off the discussion on all these issues. What is the government saying?
The government says that the attitude of the opposition is not responsible. He refrained from making noise. On the very first day of the monsoon session, Prime Minister Narendra Modi took a dig at the opposition for breaking the tradition of not introducing new cabinet ministers. The government had expressed skepticism about the report on the Pegasus espionage case coming just before the Parliament session. Information Technology Minister Ashwini Vaishnav had said that it cannot be a coincidence that such a report came a day before the Parliament session. Home Minister Amit Shah had told the conspiracy behind this.

Bill being passed without discussion
The special thing is that the bills are also being passed amidst the uproar and noise of the opposition. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Pralhad Joshi requested the opposition members to allow the House to function. He said that already five days have passed without any work. Public money is being wasted. During this, two bills were passed in the Lok Sabha without discussion. This is definitely not a good sign.
