UP Police has lashed out at cyber thugs. Cyber ​​cell has recovered Rs 6 crore from the bank accounts of the fraud gang. There are 16 cyber police stations in the state. Since coming into existence a year ago, 528 FIRs have been registered in these police stations.

UP Cyber ​​Cell has solved 126 of these cases and 385 accused have been arrested. A senior official said that all the regional cyber police stations have been provided with equipment and resources. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has also sanctioned Rs 32 crore to strengthen the new cyber police stations.

Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Home, Avnish Awasthi said in a statement that so far 49,779 complaints have been received from the National Cyber ​​Crime Reporting Portal. In addition, 21,512 tip line complaints (related to child pornography) have also been received from the ministry. Awasthi said that a total of 1,363 judicial/police gazetted/non-gazetted personnel have also been trained for investigation.

ADG Cyber ​​Crime Ram Kumar said that the toll free number 155260 works round the clock and also monitors cases like fraud in bank accounts. He said that various digital platforms have been activated for complaints of cyber crime. SP Cyber ​​Crime Triveni Singh said that recently the cyber cell has busted a gang running a road tax collection racket worth Rs 2.4 crore. Two people who cheated the website of the mining department and caused a loss of Rs 200 crore to the exchequer have also been arrested.
