The woman injured in the incident of snatchers in Mangolpuri area died during treatment. The woman was going to her brother’s house for Rakshabandhan. During this time the incident took place. The accused have been identified as Prince, a resident of Begumpur and Naresh, a resident of Sultanpuri. Both were arrested by the police on 26 August.

According to the police, the deceased woman was identified as 30-year-old Uma Patwal. On the morning of 22 August, he was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in a critically injured condition due to being dragged on the road. She was unconscious. The woman could not be identified then. The police started investigation by registering a case under the sections of the road accident. But later the woman was identified.

The woman was a resident of Almora, Uttarakhand
She was a resident of Bhanoli in Almora district of Uttarakhand. The family consists of husband Mohan Singh and two children. She lived in Chhatarpur area. Investigation revealed that Uma Patwal had left the house on the morning of August 22 to tie Rakhi, a brother living in Sultanpuri on Rakshabandhan. Meanwhile, the miscreants snatched the purse. When she resisted, the miscreants dragged her, injuring her badly.
