Four persons have been arrested in the firing on a junior engineer Deepak Khambit in Borivali on September 29.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Hemant Nagrale said on Wednesday that a contract worth Rs 20 lakh was given to the shooters for this shootout. The accused, Ajay Singh and Amit Sinha, were arrested from Bhadoi and Ghazipur. Both of them were hired by junior engineers named Shri Krishna Mohite and Yashwant Deshmukh. Deepak Khambit, Shri Krishna Mohite and Yashwant Deshmukh are all associated with Mira-Bhayander.
After this shootout, Mira-Bhayander, Vasai-Virar CP Sadanand Date formed a special team to investigate. Officials like Hitendra Vichare, Badak were also kept in this team. The Mumbai Police also conducted a parallel investigation. Both the shooters had come on bike and had fired two rounds of bullets.
