An ACP level officer is responsible for investigating the allegations leveled against Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) Zonal Director Samir Wankhede, who is facing charges of bribery of Rs 25 crore and the arrest of King Khan’s son Aryan Khan in the cruise drugs party case. Police officer Milind Khetle has been assigned. He has been appointed by the CP of Mumbai Police to investigate the complaint letter received to 4 police stations in the drugs case.

Sources said that the Mumbai Police has not registered any case against Wankhede so far. They have only received complaints. Mumbai Police is shying away from making public what was complained about in this. However, all complaints received against Wankhede are confirmed to be investigated by Khetle. At the same time, sources say that this investigation report will be sent to the Home Ministry of the state, from where any further action will be taken only after the order comes.

Statement of Sail, who accused Wankhede, recorded
Mumbai Police has recorded the statement of the witness Prabhakar Sail who has alleged extortion of Rs 25 crore against NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede. According to sources, on Tuesday, a senior DCP-level police officer recorded his statement in connection with the allegations leveled by Sail against Wankhede. This statement was recorded by Sail in front of the police on camera, whose investigation has been started.

Sources reveal that the police are scrutinizing the CCTV footage to find out the locations and whereabouts of the people mentioned by Sail in the statement. Also, the location of Sail’s phone is also being tracked to verify the facts. Once the report is ready, it will be presented to the higher authorities for further action.

A judicial inquiry should be conducted into Malik’s allegations: Lad
The allegations being leveled by Minister Nawab Malik on NCB officer Sameer Wankhede should be investigated by a committee of three retired judges and Malik should also be included in the purview of the investigation. This demand has been made by BJP Vice President and Legislative Council member Prasad Lad. Lad said that Malik is the pawn in this entire episode, he has been continuously working to protect the drug mafia. If SIT is to be constituted to investigate this whole matter, then it should be constituted immediately, but along with it a judicial inquiry should also be conducted.
