The Africa Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (Africa CDC) said that the death toll from the epidemic across the continent stood at 220,546, Xinhua news agency reported. According to the Africa CDC, some 7,975,484 patients across the continent have so far recovered from the disease.
According to the agency, South Africa, Morocco, Tunisia, Ethiopia and Libya are among the countries with the highest number of cases in the continent. In terms of statistics, Southern Africa is the most affected region, followed by the northern and eastern parts of the continent, while Africa is the least affected, according to the CDC.
