A man chewed on the thumb of a traffic policeman in Rohini area. The accused car driver first abused, then chewed the thumb of the ASI during the scuffle. Other policemen and people present nearby overpowered him with great difficulty. Reported the incident to the police. Police have arrested the accused by registering a case of obstructing government work and assault. His car was also confiscated.

According to the police, the accused has been identified as Piyush Bansal, a resident of Pitampura. On Wednesday afternoon, ASI Dalel Singh, posted in the traffic police, was checking on the road leading to Sector-11 Rohini. Then the young man coming from the car stopped. He was not wearing seat belt. The policeman asked the young man to show the papers. But the accused refused to show the papers and told that he was living abroad.
