Ranchi: Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel (Ameesha Patel) was presented in a civil court here on Monday in the check bounce case. He appeared in the court of Judge DN Shukla and pleaded not guilty in the case.
The case dates back to 2018, when Jharkhand-based filmmaker Ajay Kumar Singh filed a complaint of cheating and check bounce against Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai debutant Ameesha.
As per the case registered, Singh had transferred Rs 2.5 crore to the bank account of the actress for the production of a film titled ‘Desi Magic’. However, Ameesha Patel did not act in films and was later sent a check of Rs 2.5 crore, which reportedly bounced.
Men’s lawyer Smita Pathak said that the actress was asked to appear before the court on June 21, but she did not do so along with her former associates. Pathak said, “I have requested friends in the matter.”
