Digital Desk, Kabul. Women took to the streets of Afghanistan’s capital Kabul on Tuesday to protest against girls’ school closures, accusing the international community of being silent about what is happening in Afghanistan. The women who gathered at the UNAMA gate in Kabul said the international community, human rights groups and the United Nations were completely indifferent to the sanctions imposed on Afghan women by the Taliban. The protesters said that the silence of the United Nations against the current situation in Afghanistan is shameful. Women raised slogans like Right to Education, Right to Work, Women’s Fundamental Right and the silence of the United Nations will shame history. Meanwhile, Afghan women wanted a chance to meet the head of Unama Deborah Lyon and talk about women’s rights and submit their letter in this regard, the report said. In a parallel all-women demonstration in Kabul, women demanded the opening of schools for girls and that their rights should not be violated.
