Especially due to the ongoing Navratri festival, there is resentment among the devotees of the Goddess. Anticipating a ruckus due to power cut, District Magistrate Anurag Patel has written a letter to the Managing Director of Dakshinachal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Agra, demanding not to cut the night in rural areas.

For the past several days in the district, there is increasing displeasure among the people due to cuts in rural areas. The announcement of the Chief Minister’s cut-free Bundelkhand is also proving to be a breeze. In most of the villages and towns of the district, there is power failure from 7 pm onwards.

At the same time, since the beginning of Navratri festival, devotees are worshiping by placing goddess idols in village-village. Goddess songs are performed in the temples and goddess temples at night. As such, there is a risk of confusion due to cuts. Sensing this danger, District Magistrate Anurag Patel had to write a letter to the first Managing Director of Dakshinachal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited, Agra.

The DM has said in a letter to the Managing Director that during Navratri in the urban and rural areas of Banda, the work of worshiping Goddess Durga by installing idols at different places starts from the evening time. Where a large number of devotees gather, but due to the undeclared power cut in the night, there is a fear of spreading chaos along with great anger among the devotees.

‘Electricity should be given at night’
In such a situation, along with providing uninterrupted power supply in the headquarters, it is very necessary to get rid of the undeclared cuts at night in rural areas. Apart from this, if necessary, power cuts can be made in rural areas from 12 noon to 5 pm. He has demanded that electricity should be supplied round the clock in the headquarters under the district and at night in rural areas, so that no ruckus does not take place.
