The BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) met on Saturday to finalize the list of remaining candidates for the Assam and West Bengal assembly elections in which Prime Minister Narendra Modi and several senior leaders of the party were involved.

This was the second meeting of the party’s CEC to decide the candidates for the assembly elections. The first list of candidates announced by the party included candidates contesting the seats related to the first two phases of the Assam and West Bengal assembly elections.

We have decided the names of the candidates for the first two phases of the election. We will discuss the names of the candidates of the next three stages. People are willing to immerse him (of Mamata Banerjee).

Voting will take place in three phases in Assam and eight phases in West Bengal. Polling in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry will be held in a single phase on April 6. Apart from Prime Minister Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and party president JP Nadda attended the BJP CEC meeting.
