BJP wants to impose its culture, Congress-Left fighting for Bengal’s identity: Jitin Prasad

The battle for West Bengal assembly elections has intensified. Congress’s Bengal in-charge Jitin Prasad has alleged that the Trinamool Congress and the BJP are busy fighting for the cause in the state. He said that in the upcoming assembly elections, the Congress-Left coalition is there to give a choice to the people, which is committed to the issue of livelihood and is fighting for the identity of Bengal.

Jitin Prasad said that the Congress is focusing on compromising seats with the Left parties as soon as possible. He said that the committee set up for this would focus on the ‘feature’ of the seats during which the party would fight. Jitin Prasad said that the state unit of the party and the All India Congress Committee (AICC) are working together and no one is sitting in Delhi and giving instructions, whatever will be in the interest of the party will be done with confidence in all the stakeholders.

‘Rahul and Priyanka will campaign’
Jitin said that there is a demand from the state to campaign extensively from Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra for the West Bengal assembly elections and claimed that the top leadership will campaign when the time is right. ‘BJP-TMC busy in battle of importance’
Accusing the ruling Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of not focusing on people’s issues in the state, Prasad said that the election in West Bengal should be based on the performance of the BJP-led central government and the work done for the state. Also, it should be on the report card of Trinamool Congress but sadly it is about their ‘battle of importance’.

Jitin Prasad says that many schemes were not given to the public due to the deadlock between the Center and the state. Prasad claimed that important topics like employment, infrastructure, education, health are not being talked about. He alleged that the BJP and Trinamool Congress want to divert attention from the real issues as they want to hide the failures of their governments.
