Saket police station in South district has arrested two people for black marketing of black fungus medicines. The police have recovered 20 amphetoresin-B injections from them, for which the accused had settled the deal for more than Rs 2 lakh. This injection is believed to be most useful for the treatment of black fungus. The accused have been identified as Rajneesh Srivastava, a resident of Ghaziabad and Murtaza Khan, a resident of Harsha Vihar. The accused have been arrested following complaints from two students.
DCP Atul Thakur said that two students named Abhishek Kumar and Rishabh had complained to Saket police station. He said that he is a member of Kovid Helper, a WhatsApp group and helps deliver medicines to Covid-19and Black Fungus patients. In this context, he was trying to arrange for an amphetresin-B injection for a needy patient. Meanwhile he contacted a person, who was selling the injections at a higher price. The accused agreed to give 20 injections for Rs 2.26 lakh. When he was about to come to Saket Max Hospital to give injections, SHO Mahipal formed a team and arrested the accused from near the hospital. The accused came in the MG-Hector car. As soon as Hauz Rani stopped at the red light to give injections to the complainant, the police nabbed him. 20 injections were found after a car search. The accused were demanding 11 thousand rupees for an injection.
Accused Rajneesh Srivastava has a post graduation degree from Lucknow University and trades medical equipments like stretchers, ICU beds etc. for hospitals. Shahabad Mohammadpur Village also serves as ambulance vehicles near IGI Airport. The second person, Murtaza Khan, is his driver, who used to help him in this business. The inquiry also revealed that Rajneesh Srivastava had brought the injection from Lucknow.
