In a 24 hours, 40,120 new cases of Covid-19have been reported in the country. After these new cases, the total number of corona virus infection cases increased to 3,21,17,826. At the same time, the recovery rate of the infected became 97.46 percent, which is the highest ever. The death toll from the epidemic increased to 4,30,254 after 585 more people died of the infection on Wednesday.

The number of active patients in the country has come down to 3,85,227. This is 1.20% of the total cases of infection. This is the lowest since March last year. The cases of infection may be more in Kerala but the cases of death due to corona are more in Maharashtra.

Positivity rate less than 3% from 19 days
According to the Health Ministry data, the daily positivity rate in the country was recorded at 2.04% on Wednesday. It has remained less than 3% for the last 19 days. The weekly positivity rate was recorded at 2.13%. The number of people who have recovered from this disease has increased to 3,13,02,345 while the death rate is 1.34%.

According to ministry data, 585 more people have lost their lives in the last 24 hours. Of these, 208 died in Maharashtra and 160 in Kerala. The death toll in Maharashtra crossed 200 for the first time since July 31. So far, 4,30,254 people have died due to this epidemic in the country. Of these, 1,34, 572 people died in Maharashtra, 36,911 in Karnataka, 34,428 in Tamil Nadu, 25,068 in Delhi, 22,780 in Uttar Pradesh, 18,280 in Kerala and 18,268 in West Bengal.

Positivity rate over 14% in Kerala
More than 50% of corona cases in the country are coming from Kerala alone. On Thursday, 21,445 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in the state while 160 died. After this, the total number of infected in the state has increased to 36,31,638 while the death toll due to Covid-19has increased to 18,280. The infection rate in Kerala is 14.73 percent.

Maharashtra: 4 days again, new cases cross 6 thousand
6,388 new cases of Covid-19have been reported in Maharashtra. This information was given in the bulletin released on Thursday. After the arrival of 6,388 new cases of infection in Maharashtra, the number of infected people increased to 63,75,390. At the same time, after the death of 208 more patients, the death toll increased to 1,34,572. More than 6,000 new cases of infection have been reported in the state after a gap of four days.

New trend of breakthrough infection in Kerala
Apart from this, a new trend is being seen in the state. In about 9 districts of Kerala, many people who have taken both the doses of Anti Covid-19vaccine are getting corona infected. According to the report, 40,000 such cases of infection have been reported so far. The state Pathanamthitta report is most worrying. Here, 14,974 people who took one dose of the vaccine while 5,042 people who took both the doses have been found to be corona positive.

First death due to Delta Plus variant in Mumbai
The first case of death has come from the Delta Plus variant of the corona virus in Mumbai. A 63-year-old elderly woman suffering from lung infection died in the city. The elderly woman had received both doses of the corona vaccine. Through genome sequencing, it was found on Wednesday that she was infected with Delta Plus. This is the first case of death in Mumbai and the second case of death from the Delta Plus variant in Maharashtra. There are 65 Delta Plus cases in the state at present, out of which 11 are from Mumbai only.

The indigenously-manufactured single-dose ‘Sputnik Lite’ vaccine is set to be launched in September. Panacea Biotech has recently submitted documents related to this with the drug regulator of India. The company has sought approval for the emergency use of the vaccine. This vaccine has been up to 80% effective in clinical trials. There has been a partnership between Panacea Biotech and the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) regarding this vaccine. Experts say that ‘Sputnik Lite’ will be available in limited quantity in India initially. Its price is estimated to be Rs 750.
