The new CVT unit will come with a 1.5-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine, which will generate maximum power of 141 bhp and peak torque of 250 Nm. Currently in this engine, customers get the option of DCT gearbox with 6-speed manual.
According to the reports, with the new transmission, the company can reduce the price of automatic variants of Hector from 50,000 to 65,000 rupees.
There will be no major changes to the 2021 MG Hector CVT. This model has already received a cosmetic change. Small changes can be seen with the grill revamped bumpers. Its cabin has been given features such as wireless charging, ventilated front seats and updated MG iSmart mobile app with new dual-tone option.
The MG Hector CVT option can be offered in top end variants like Super and Sharp. According to the reports, the initial ex-showroom price of the new CVT model can be Rs 15.80 lakh.
After the launch, the Hector Petrol CVT will have a direct and tough competition in this segment from cars like the Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Nissan Kicks and Jeep Compass Facelift.
