Misusing the name of a martyr soldier, the thugs prepared fake Aadhar card, PAN card, Army card. In the name of sending advance payment for taking flat on rent, 32 thousand rupees were collected. Cyber cell is probing the matter.
The victim 47-year-old Anju Bakshi told that she is originally from Delhi. Some time back Noida has shifted to Sector-76. There is a flat in Noida Sector-34. Husband Rajesh Bakshi has passed away. He is survived by his 21-year-old son Mayank Bakshi and 18-year-old daughter Meghna Bakshi. Both are studying now. Rajesh used to run an online spiritual website. In the initial week of Corona’s second wave, all except the daughter were hit by Kovid. The condition was so bad that beds were not available in the hospital. Being helpless, they got quarantined in different rooms at home. Fever, breathing problems started. Meanwhile, on 23 April, the husband died at home. Amidst the fierce wave of Corona, she took her husband’s body along with her son and daughter for the last rites with great effort.
A few days later, he posted the photos and rent details of the Sector-34 flat on the property portal. The next day the call came. The caller said that he is speaking from Sachin Sharma Army and is posted in Jharkhand. Posting done in Delhi. The family consists of daughter and wife. He said that the urgent has to shift to Noida. He said that when you come to Delhi, then after seeing the flat, pay the rent. He said it is early so that he can complete the shifting work. The person said that he has sent 14 thousand rupees to his Paytm number. On this he told him that the money had not come. On this the person asked to scan a QR code. As soon as scanned, 14 thousand rupees were deducted from his account. Anju said that instead of getting the money, it was cut. The person asked to scan the QR code again citing the problem in the transaction. This time too, instead of getting the amount in Anju’s account, it got deducted.
According to Anju, 32 thousand rupees were deducted from his account. On his suspicion, the person sent a copy of his army ID proof, PAN card, Aadhar card, and other documents on WhatsApp. On this, he was convinced that the person was from the army, but again when the person asked to scan the QR code, he refused. After that the person started misbehaving. According to Anju, that night and till the next day, he kept on calling and pressurizing her to scan the QR code one more time. When he spoke about getting an FIR, he started threatening to do whatever he wanted. Dialing that person’s number from another mobile and checked it, it came in the name of ‘scam’ in the truecaller. When I came to know about Sachin, it came to know that this is a martyr soldier of the army, whose name photo ID, PAN card, Aadhar card are being misused. After this, the complaint was sent to the Cyber Portal of the Local Police, Cyber Police, Delhi Police Commissioner, Delhi Cyber Cell, Home Ministry with all the proofs.
