Despite all the criticism of BJP, Digvijay Singh is not deterring from making a statement on Article 370. On Friday, he once again targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi for abrogating Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Digvijay has also thanked Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti.

Digvijay said that PM Modi did not discuss with anyone about the removal of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir. Even after taking the decision, they were not ready to discuss it. Diggi said that all the people of Kashmir along with Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti are saying that we will not agree without 370. It was only after his insistence that Modi ji started the discussion on this. Digvijay thanked the Kashmiri leaders and the people there for this.

About three weeks ago, in a clubhouse chat, Digvijay had said that the reinstatement of Article 370 would be considered if the Congress returned to power. As soon as his statement came, BJP leaders started criticizing him. While MP CM Digvijay Singh called him a Talibani brain, BJP national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the contacts of Digvijay should be investigated by the NIA.

After the criticism, Digvijay said that his statement has been distorted. He also sent a notice to Twitter in this matter, but did not stop giving a statement on this issue. When the Prime Minister called an all-party meeting on the Kashmir issue, he said that Modi takes decisions first, thinks later.

In the all-party meeting held on June 24, PM Modi had said that he wants to erase the “distance of hearts” along with the “distance of Delhi” from this erstwhile state. The PM said that there may be political differences but everyone should work in the national interest so that the people of the state can get the benefit of it.

The meeting was attended by four former chief ministers including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, National Conference’s Farooq Abdullah, his son Omar Abdullah, Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) Mehbooba Mufti and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad. . The main issue of the meeting was to strengthen the democratic process in the Union Territory and the Prime Minister assured all the political parties that the Central Government was committed to its restoration in Jammu and Kashmir.

Diggi’s latest statement can once again increase political excitement. It remains to be seen how BJP leaders react to this now.
