In summer, exercising by drinking water alone is a bit risky

Drinking plenty of water during workouts is not enough, because when you exercise, the amount of dehydrates through sweat as well as the amount of electrolytes and salt in the body decreases. Electrolytes are minerals that regulate and control the balance of fluids in the body.

Electrolytes include nutrients such as potassium, sodium, chloride, phosphorus, magnesium, and calcium. In severe cases, electrolyte imbalance can lead to muscle cramps, twitches, weakness, heart arrhythmia, paralysis, and even death via cardiac arrest. So you should not just depend on water while doing workouts in summer.

Do not exercise at this time of day

In summer, you should create a perfect time table for your workouts. It would be better if you do not exercise in the scorching heat of the summer season at 10 to 3 in the morning. The best time to workout during summer is in the morning. However, some people do not like to wake up early morning, so they can exercise after sunset.

If you want to go out of the house and do a workout after the sun sets, make sure to check the weather forecast first. If the heat and air pollution is high, then do exercise in your home. By not doing so, if you continue exercising at elevated temperatures while challenging the body, the body’s cooling system may respond and you may be in trouble.

Choose loose and light colored clothes

The color of the workout costume should also be kept in mind during the summer season. Dark colored clothes absorb heat, whereas this is not the case with light colored clothing. At the same time, if you wear tight clothes then you will have discomfort in doing workouts and it can also cause problems in breathing. Therefore, while exercising, always choose loose clothes so that you can feel comfortable and the air reaches your skin. In this way, you will also be able to keep the body cool.

Cotton is the best fabric in summer that if you workout while wearing it, it absorbs sweat and you do not feel restless.

Do not skip sunscreen, there may be a risk of skin cancer

Be it summer or winter or rainy season, always apply at least SPF 30 or more sunscreen on your skin if you are doing workouts outside or else sunburn can occur. When someone gets sunburn, he gives less glow to the skin and the person starts looking old before time. In addition, sunburn can also increase the risk of skin cancer. Therefore, to avoid the side effects of the heat of the sun, cover yourself with full clothes and apply sunscreen during the summer season.

Carry a water bottle

Whenever you go out to exercise, carry a water bottle with you before leaving the house. Take a bottle with you that has at least 2 glasses of water. Take a sip of water in the middle of a workout session so that your body stays hydrated. Drink more water after finishing the workout.

Apart from water, exercisers should also include electrolytes along with fruits and vegetables in their diet. However, many people prefer to have sports drinks which are full of calories. Instead, fresh fruits and juices will be better options for you.

Do not ignore these things during exercise

During exercise, you should stop doing your exercises when you are not feeling well. In such a situation, first of all pay attention to your body and wait for a while. During this time, if you feel any symptoms like increased heartbeat, weakness, dizziness, headache, muscle cramps, vomiting, then stop exercising and rest for the day.
