UP STF has got a big success. Fake IPS named Rajiv, resident of Aliganj Sector-P, Lucknow has been arrested. 5.743 kg of gold has been recovered from the accused, the value of which is said to be around Rs 3 crore. The accused youth, posing as an IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre, had cheated gold jewelery worth crores from Mohan Shyam Kalyan Das Jewelers.
The accused told during interrogation that in the year 2003, his mother used to go with her friend to buy jewelery at Mohan Shyam Kalyan Das Jewelers of Aminabad. Gradually, these people had a good relationship with each other. After this, in the year 2005, he also started visiting Mohan Shyam Kalyan Das Jewelery shop. His father was working in the police department and retired in 2014 in Sitapur. After some time it started calling itself as an IPS officer of Maharashtra cadre. Due to which its friendship with Nitesh Rastogi, owner of Mohan Shyam Kalyan Jewelers Gol Market Mahanagar, increased.
Fake check given to shop owner
The accused bought gold jewelery worth 70 lakhs in the month of July 2020 and then 1.95 crores in the month of December. In lieu of which he gave checks of seven different amounts of Central Bank of India to the owner of Mohan Shyam Kalyan Das, but kept on pretending not to get the check. Due to which the time limit of the check has expired. After this, the owner of the shop tried to talk on the phone several times, but the accused refused to give the money, pretending to be an IPS officer.
