Mira-Bhayander Municipal Corporation has registered an FIR against the hospital named Orchid, which is doing fake treatment of Corona. Apart from this, a case has also been registered against pathology labs named Apoorva and Swastik. The case is about treating Corona by giving a fake ‘positive report’. No arrest has been made in this case so far. Senior Police Inspector Kailash Barve said that the police is probing the matter.
What was the ‘modus operandi’
When a person came to any of these hospitals or labs on suspicion of Kovid, his fake ‘positive report’ would have been made. After this he was treated and a good amount was recovered and sent. There would have been collusion between the hospital and the lab in this whole matter.
How did the matter get caught?
At the end of May, when the speed of corona started decreasing and the ‘positivity rate’ also started falling, even then the ‘positivity rate’ in Orchid Hospital is not decreasing. On suspicion of the Municipal Administration, the Legal Department suddenly raided the hospital. During the raid, the legal department found such patients who were undergoing treatment for corona, while they came negative in the RT-PCR test.
Still more hospitals are on the radar
Such complaints about many other hospitals and labs have been received by the Municipal Administration. However, no action has been taken against them so far. Municipal Commissioner Dilip Dhole said that more hospitals are still on the radar and appropriate action will be taken against them soon.
