‘God took away the reason to live…’, Saira Banu’s first words, when the doctor said Dilip Sahab is no more

Saira Banu was deeply in love with her ‘sahib’ Dilip Kumar, selflessly served day and night. Apart from Dilip Kumar, there was no world for Saira Banu. For him, Saira Banu even left films. In such a situation, when Dilip Kumar left her, she broke down and said that God took away from her the reason for her living.

Dilip Kumar passed away on the morning of Wednesday, 7 July. He was 98 years old and was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai for the past few days. Dilip Kumar was ill for a long time. He had breathing problems. According to a report in ‘Peeping Moon’, as soon as Saira Banu got the news of Dilip Kumar’s death, she broke down and said to Dr. Jaleel Parkar, ‘God took away my reason for living from me. Without sir, I would not be able to think of anything. Please all pray.’

Let us tell you that Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on June 30 after suffering from breathing problems. Earlier in the first week of June also, Dilip Kumar was admitted due to the same problem. Dilip Kumar then had bilateral pleural effusion and was kept on oxygen support in the ICU ward. However, Dilip Kumar’s health was improving.

On the other hand, Dr. Jalil Parkar, Dr. Pulmonologist of Dilip Kumar told that Dilip Kumar was treated properly. Every effort was made to save him, but there was a demand of age and he had many problems.

Dilip Kumar was handed over with state honors at Santacruz Cemetery in Mumbai at 5 pm on Wednesday itself. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan also reached his last visit.
