He had breathing problems. According to a report in ‘Peeping Moon’, as soon as Saira Banu got the news of Dilip Kumar’s death, she broke down and said to Dr. Jaleel Parkar, ‘God took away my reason for living from me. Let us tell you that Dilip Kumar was admitted to Hinduja Hospital in Mumbai on June 30 after suffering from breathing problems. Earlier in the first week of June also, Dilip Kumar was admitted due to the same problem. Dilip Kumar then had bilateral pleural effusion and was kept on oxygen support in the ICU ward. However, Dilip Kumar’s health was improving.

Dilip Kumar was handed over with state honors at Santacruz Cemetery in Mumbai at 5 pm on Wednesday itself. Megastar Amitabh Bachchan also reached his last visit.
