Hero Electric (Hero Electric), India’s largest electric two-wheeler company, announced its partnership with Charzer, a Bengaluru-based EV charging start-up for a strong EV ecosystem in India. As part of the partnership, Hero Electric and Charzer will install 100,000 charging stations over the next three years, further strengthening the electric vehicle infrastructure among manufacturers.
In the first year of collaboration, Charzer will install 10,000 charging stations in the top 30 cities. The start-up will deploy Kirana Charger at Hero Electric dealerships to ease the availability of charging facility for the consumers. It will provide charger mobile application and website for EV owners to locate nearby charging stations and booking slots. Electric vehicle riders can also use the charging facility in the subscription-based model.
Speaking on the partnership, Sohinder Gill, CEO, Hero Electric, said, “At Hero, we believe that a strong and well-equipped infrastructure network is the key to the growth of electric vehicles in India. This collaboration will aid in EV development and provide a seamless charging experience to customers by integrating charging slot booking and payment with the charger fitted. With our vision and commitment to drive the development of electric vehicles, we are working hard to enhance the charging infrastructure. Through this partnership, we aim to push towards EVs and promote a clean and green mobility solution.”
