After getting permission in Mumbai local to people who have taken two doses, the number of passengers has increased to about 50 lakhs. But the public is upset with the condition of giving tickets. Only Monthly Season Tickets are to be given as per the guidelines of the State Government. There are lakhs of people in Mumbai who need a single ticket. At present, single tickets are available only to people connected with essential services. In such a situation, when passengers do not get single tickets, then they are forced to travel ticketless. So the number of passengers is increasing.
In April this year itself, after the second wave, the travel of the common people in trains was banned. These were allowed from August 11. But even from April to September, many people continued to travel without tickets due to their needs. Central Railway has caught 12.47 lakh such passengers. A fine of Rs 71.25 crore has been recovered from them. According to Chief Public Relations Officer Shivaji Sutar, action has been taken not only against ticketless passengers, who did not follow the Kovid rules. Action was taken against a total of 25,610 passengers from April to September. ₹34.74 lakh was recovered from such passengers for not wearing masks.
