Digital Desk, New Delhi. Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) Lt Gen Faiz Hameed held separate farewell meetings with Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan and Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Islamabad on Thursday.
According to The News, in the farewell meeting, both Imran Khan and Qureshi appreciated the efforts and services of Faiz Hameed as Director General of ISI. He also extended his best wishes on his new assignment as Peshawar Corps Commander, the report said. A day earlier, Hameed bid farewell to Pakistan President Arif Alvi at Rashtrapati Bhavan where Alvi also lauded Hameed’s efforts and services as ISI DG for the country’s security.
The report said that Hameed would serve as the Director General of ISI till November 19 after which Lt Gen Nadeem Anjum would take over on November 20. Imran Khan appointed Lt Gen Anjum as the new ISI chief on 26 October. The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) has approved the appointment of Lt Gen Nadeem Ahmed Anjum as Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence with effect from November 20, the notification read.
