Babar’s Garden – Gardens of Babur in Afghanistan
Babur’s Garden, locally called Bagh-e-Babur, is a historical park in Kabul, Afghanistan, and also the final resting place of the first Mughal emperor, Babur. The gardens are believed to have developed around 1528 AD (935 AH), when Babur ordered the construction of an avenue garden in Kabul, which is described in his memoirs, Baburnama. It was the tradition of the Mughal princes to develop sites for entertainment and enjoyment during their lifetime and choose one of these as their final resting place. But this place has changed over the years.

Buddhas of Bamiyan – Buddhas of Bamiyan in Afghanistan
Located in central Afghanistan, Bamiyan is one of the last cities where Buddhists expanded. The Buddha of Bamiyan, which was built in the 6th century, is located in the Hazarajat region of central Afghanistan. There are monumental sized sculptures of Gautam Buddha, an Indian saint, carved into the rocks in the Bamyan Valley at an altitude of 2,500 meters (8,200 ft). The sculptures are built in sandstone rocks, although straw and plaster were also used. Even though the structures were destroyed by the Taliban in 2001, its importance cannot be ignored. Darul Aman Palace – Darul Aman Palace in Afghanistan
Another major attraction in Afghanistan is the Darul Aman Palace. Darul Aman Palace means “abode of peace”. The Darul Aman Palace is a European-style palace, now a ruin, located about sixteen kilometers from the center of Kabul, Afghanistan. It is across from the Afghan Parliament and very close to the National Museum of Afghanistan and the American University of Afghanistan. The palace was constructed in the early 1920s by the then King Amandullah and was connected to the city of Kabul with a narrow railway line. It has a total of 150 rooms. Today, it is considered a major attraction in Afghanistan.

Herat Citadel in Afghanistan
The Citadel of Herat, also known as Sikandar’s Citadel, and known locally as Kala Iktiyaruddin, is located in the center of Herat in Afghanistan. The Citadel of Herat was built by Alexander in 330 BC when he arrived with his army in Afghanistan after the Battle of Gaugamela. Later, many other empires used it as their headquarters and remained so for 2,000 years, during which it was largely destroyed and rebuilt by ruling dynasties. The site was renovated between 2006 and 2011. Now it also houses the National Museum of Herat. Its historical importance makes it a memorable place in Afghanistan.

Minaret of Jam in Afghanistan
Jam Ki Minar is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, located in Ghor Province. It is believed that in ancient times the muezzin offered prayers in this tower. It is made entirely of baked bricks and its intricate artworks are very beautiful. The walls of the minaret are decorated with Kufic and Naskhi calligraphy, geometric patterns and alternating bands of Quranic verses. The National Museum of Afghanistan is popularly known as Kabul Museum. This two-storey building is located about 9 km south-west of the center of Kabul in Afghanistan.
