In a dispute that started after two vehicles touched down in Dwarka, four youths thrashed a constable posted in Delhi Police and fled with his vehicle. The constable chased the accused with a bike of a person and nabbed one of the accused. Dwarka South Police Station registered a case and arrested the accused Naveen. The search is on for his friends.
Constable Surendra lives with his family on rent at Akshardham Apartment in Dwarka, the police official said. Originally from Rohtak, Haryana. Presently posted at Todapur Traffic Police Headquarters. He was on his way home after finishing work on the night of 29 June. The CNG petrol pump near Dwarka Sector-2 was jammed due to the long line of vehicles. He was turning the car, during which a car coming from behind overtook him. Both the cars touched. After the mark was made on the car, four youths present in the white car came and started quarreling with the constable.
The constable also came out of the car and wanted to call the police. Thereafter the accused started beating. The accused fled with his car. The constable chased the accused with the help of a bike-borne youth. At some distance the constable saw a police van. He sought the help of the police. The police and the victim caught hold of a vehicle of the accused. Naveen was driving it. Naveen’s accomplices fled with the constable’s car. There was money, laptop and other documents in it.
