In Jyoti Nagar area of North East Delhi, two miscreants entered the house in broad daylight with the intention of looting. One put a knife on the woman’s neck and the other pointed a pistol. When threatened to kill the children, the woman pounced. The miscreants were frightened by the sudden attack. When one left the knife in his hand, the pistol man opened fire. The bullet hit the woman in the waist, which also pushed the pistol man. When the woman ran down the stairs to escape, the miscreant fired again. Luckily the woman survived. Both the miscreants fled without robbing them.
Shayma (32) lives in Shani Bazar area of Kardampuri. It is the job of making the husband’s coat. She told the police that on Thursday morning her husband left for making the identity card. She was working in the house and the children were playing on the terrace.

After the husband left, at around 11:30, two boys entered his flat on the third floor. One entered the room waving a knife, while the other miscreant stood at the gate holding a pistol. The miscreant with a knife put it on his neck and said that after opening the cupboard, hand over the cash and jewelery to us, otherwise they will kill the children.

On hearing of killing the children, the woman pounced on him. Due to this the knife was released from the hand of the miscreant and the mask was also removed from the face. The miscreant standing at the pistol tane gate opened fire immediately, due to which Shayma was shot on the waist.

He also pushed the miscreant with the pistol and ran down the stairs. The miscreant opened fire again. During this, when Shayma fell, both the miscreants fled. After a while, the woman’s husband Ejaz returned, who took the wife to GTB Hospital in an injured condition. Police found a knife, two empty shells and two bullet leads from the spot.
