On Sunday, the case of fire incident in the parcel van of Shatabdi Express going from Delhi to Lucknow was revealed on Sunday. Investigation by the Railway Protection Force revealed that the loading party manager, despite knowing everything, had loaded the flammable goods into the train’s parcel van, describing it as a goodies item, which led to the fire. RPF has arrested the loading party manager Gyanendra Pandey by registering a case in this regard.
Three teams are investigating the case
According to Northern Railway chief spokesperson Deepak Kumar, three RPF teams under the supervision of Senior DSC (Co-ordination) of Railway Protection Force (Delhi) are investigating the incident from different aspects. The first team went to Ghaziabad station to investigate, where the fire was first discovered. The second team conducted an investigation by visiting the loading point of the parcel office in New Delhi, while the third team is engaged in taking further legal action in connection with the incident based on CCTV footage and other means by collecting scientific evidence.
Manager loaded flammable goods as goods items
Deepak Kumar said that during the investigation, acid-based battery items, Bluetooth, mobile cleaner liquid and many other such deadly and flammable substances have been placed in the red tariff list by the Railways. Investigation has also revealed that Gyanendra Pandey, the manager of the loading party, in his forwarding note, had misrepresented all these things as courier goods instead of flammable substances. In the inquiry, Gyanendra Pandey has also admitted that he did it on purpose. He also identified the inflammable items that he had booked and after the incident which were seized by the RPF from the spot.
Case registered in serious sections of railway act
On the basis of the facts revealed in the inquiry and investigation, RPF arrested Gyanendra Pandey and registered a case against him under several serious sections of the Railway Act. Pandey has been accused of intentionally endangering the lives of passengers by putting flammable goods on the train. RPF teams have sent the evidence collected from the spot to the Forensic Lab in Ghaziabad for investigation and requested to send the inquiry report at the earliest, so that the chargesheet can be filed on the basis of it at the earliest. Further investigation is going on in this case. RPF teams are also questioning some other people in this case.
