After the Antilia scandal and the murder of Hiren Mansukh, the Mumbai Police became so infamous that its CP Parambir Singh was transferred. Later, the new police commissioner Hemant Nagrale removed the officers attached to almost all the units of the crime branch. The crime branch’s property cell was looking after the case related to porn films, the officers of that unit were also removed and a new team was brought there. Raj Kundra was arrested by this new team. Now an API of the same property cell has been caught red handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) taking a bribe of two lakh rupees.

The name of the arrested API has been traced to Nagesh Puranik. According to the ACB, Puranik was demanding a bribe of Rs 12 lakh from the wife of one of the accused. The property cell has made him an accused in the theft of luxury cars. Puranik was telling the wife of the accused that if she would pay this amount, her husband’s name would be dropped from the case later.

Puranik had also taken Rs 4 lakh in this regard. He was pressurizing for the remaining 8 lakh rupees. Disturbed by this, the wife complained to the ACB. The ACB then asked the wife to tell Puranik that at present she is bringing Rs 2 lakh. After that the ACB laid a trap and arrested Puranik taking bribe.
