A 52-year-old man playing Ludo was overshadowed for a timepass during the lockdown. It is being told that a friend murdered another friend while playing Ludo. After the murder, the accused also attended the funeral of his friend. Not only this, the accused also got a fake death certificate of his friend from a hospital located in Borivali and got his friend’s family cremated as a natural death, so that no one suspected his act.
The incident took place under Malad Police Station. This was revealed when a neighbor attending the funeral informed the deceased’s wife about his friend’s car, after which the family turned to the Malad police. Police is investigating the incident by arresting accused Amit Raj Popat alias Jimmy (34) by registering a case under Section 302 of IPC.

Fake death certificate made in 10 thousand
Senior police inspector Dhananjay Ligade said that the accused got a fake death certificate from a private hospital in Borivali with the help of an ambulance driver of his identity for Rs 10,000. Jimmy gave this certificate to Tukaram’s family, saying that he had died naturally. Before Jimmy escaped from Mumbai after carrying out the crime, the police got an inkling of it. Police arrested Jimmy and sent him to jail on the orders of the local court. Tukaram worked as a security guard, while accused Amit aka Jimmy is a car driver.
