Dozens of cases of confiscation of drugs are reported every day across the country including Mumbai, but the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) has extracted drugs worth ten crore rupees from inside the stomach of a foreign national. NCB’s Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede set a trap on August 8 at the Mumbai airport after a tip and caught the accused named Fumo Emmanuel on the basis of suspicion.
The goods of the accused were searched, no drugs were found there. But in the same process the accused was finding himself uncomfortable. At the same time when he was subjected to strict interrogation, the accused told that he had ten capsules filled with cocaine drugs in his stomach. Each capsule contained 147 grams of cocaine. After this the accused was admitted to JJ Hospital. Within about 36 hours, all the capsules were removed one by one from the stomach of the accused.
Last week, NCB arrested another foreign national named Stephen Samuel from Kharghar in Navi Mumbai. Investigating whether there is a link between Stephen and Fumo? Cocaine was also confiscated from Stephen. He was recognized by the NCB as one of the major suppliers of cocaine. Earlier he used to look after the business of drugs from New Delhi. He had shifted to Mumbai only a few months back.
