Kurukshetra Tourist Place is a famous pilgrimage site present in the state of Haryana, India. Let us tell you, Kurukshetra is the same place where Lord Krishna preached the Gita to Arjuna. Brahma Sarovar, as its name suggests, is a water tank in Thanesar, Haryana. It is considered sacred by Hindus and is incredibly beautiful. This sacred reservoir is also mentioned in the writings of Al-Biruni. Thousands throng the bathing fair here on solar eclipse, with the belief that taking a dip will bring eternal salvation. Brahma Sarovar is the most exquisite and breathtaking place in Kurukshetra. At this place, you can spend hours watching the beautiful view of the sunset. Here you will get to see handicraft shops from many states, as well as try the delicious dishes here. There is also a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in the middle of the lake, where you can attend the evening aarti.

Established around the 17th century AD, this beautiful structure was the resting place of the venerable Sufi saint Abdur Abdur-Rahim. He was popularly known as Sheikh Chilli or Chili and was a devotee and disciple of Dara Shikoh, the eldest son of Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan. In addition, Sheikh Chilli’s tomb is built in beige sandstone, features a high pear-shaped dome of white marble and showcases Persian architecture. One of the fascinating places to visit in Kurukshetra, the building also houses a madrasa and an archaeological museum displaying the antiquities found during excavations in Kurukshetra. The complex also houses the tomb of Sheikh Chilli and his wife.

The Kurukshetra Panorama and Science Center was established to showcase the impact of science on religious beliefs in India. The center’s ground floor is used to display interactive science exhibits. You can also see the depiction of the epic war of Mahabharata in the first floor of this center. Here you can see and hear many things like light-and-sound techniques, chanting of verses of Gita, sounds of war, etc. You can come here any day of the week from 10 am to 5:30 pm.

Shri Krishna Museum in Kurukshetra – Shri Krishna Museum in Kurukshetra

The museum was established in 1987 and was inaugurated by the former President of India, Shri R. Venkataraman. In February 2012, President Ms. Pratibha Patil opened two new blocks containing the Gita Gallery and the Multimedia Mahabharata. The museum is dedicated to the Hindu deity Lord Vishnu’s Krishna avatar, where many of his incarnations described in the Mahabharata and Bhagavata Purana are depicted through paintings, sculptures, manuscripts, ancient relics and other objects. The museum has exhibits of carvings, ancient sculptures, miniature paintings, etc. Sri Krishna Museum is open from 10 am to 5 pm.

This is the place where devotees believe that Lord Krishna and the Pandavas prayed to Lord Shiva to seek blessings before the mythical battle of Mahabharata. There is a holy water tank in the temple and it is said that whoever takes this water, all his diseases are cured. The roof of the temple can be seen in the shape of an amla dome with high shikharas.
