A meeting with investors will be held from 14 to 19 January
A press release issued by the Rail Land Development Authority said that the roadshow would be held online from 14 to 19 January with investors and developers from countries like Singapore and Australia, Dubai and Spain. The New Delhi railway station will be developed under design and construction with a concession period of 60 years.
Two ways of arrival and departure
According to the information, this project is divided into two parts. First station complex and second commercial development. Under the station complex, a new dome shaped building with modern facilities will be constructed. It will have two arrivals and two routes of departure. Not only this, along with the new railway building, railway offices, railway quarters will also be built.
Absolutely airport-like
On the other hand, hotels and residential complexes will also be built along with the station complex. There will be two multi-model transport centers, 40-storey twin towers on either side of the station and separate routes for the convenience of pedestrians.
This project will cost so much
The cost of this project of re-development of the station and its associated areas will be around Rs 5,000 crore. Whereas commercial development related to this area will cost about Rs 1,200 crore separately.
Developed under PPP model
RLDA will raise this money through a private public partnership. For this, the process of expression of interest will be completed soon and private partners will be decided by June 21 through the bid.
Railway Minister Piyush Goyal tweeted on Thursday, sharing the new design photo of the New Delhi railway station. In his tweet, he said that in the future, the New Delhi railway station will look something like this in view of providing transport (rail, metro, bus) with different facilities as well as all the needs of passengers at the same place.
