New Delhi
The Supreme Court has said that it is the constitutional responsibility of a public welfare state to ensure that no one dies of hunger. The Supreme Court has given a last chance to the Central Government to make a pan India scheme on the scheme of community kitchen in three weeks. The Supreme Court expressed displeasure over the affidavit filed by the Central Government in this matter and said that the affidavit should be filed by the responsible officer.

Affidavit filed by the central government
The Supreme Court has asked the central government to give a last chance to formulate a pan India scheme for community kitchens and has given three weeks time to decide the pan India scheme after taking their views from the states. Earlier, an affidavit was presented before the Supreme Court on behalf of the Under Secretary of the Food and Consumer Ministry of the Central Government. Expressed displeasure over the affidavit submitted in this matter and said that the Principal Secretary should have filed the affidavit. He also expressed displeasure over the content of the affidavit and said that in the affidavit only it has been told that what kind of scheme is going on in the states, such information has already been given by the states.

Central government should make a uniform model- Court
Additional Solicitor General Madhavi Divan, appearing for the Central Government before the Supreme Court, said that after the October 27 order, the Center held a meeting with the states and after their views, the affidavit was filed. The Chief Justice said that nowhere in this affidavit it is written that you are considering making a scheme. We want the central government to create a uniform model. Don’t ask for information like the police. You should not ask for such information from the states which has already been told to the court. Have a comprehensive scheme and you can find out where it is most needed.

It is the duty of the welfare state that no one dies of hunger- Court
The Supreme Court said that there should be a uniform scheme which should be implemented. If you want to give food to the hungry, then there is no prohibition in any law for this. You have a meeting in two weeks. It is the duty of the welfare state that no one should die of hunger. The 17-page affidavit has nothing to do with the implementation of the scheme. We are giving you the last chance and warning that the responsible officers should file the affidavit. We have already said about this many times before. You should have a sense of respect for the institution. We say something, you write something. The court asked the Attorney General that you tell what can happen.

Supreme Court allowed it
The Attorney General in the Supreme Court said that the Center will prepare a comprehensive plan for the community kitchen. The plan will be made under the National Food Security Act. Give us three weeks’ time, we will meet and finalize the scheme. The Supreme Court allowed this. The Supreme Court said that we are not happy with the affidavit of the Under Secretary of the Central Government. Give an affidavit to the responsible officer. The Center said that it is seeking suggestions from the states. We give three weeks’ time, during which the center has come up with a scheme for community kitchens.
