Oscar 2023 Nomination List: ‘Shchelo Show’, ‘Kashmir Files’ and ‘Kantara’ shocked, read full list

‘The Last Film Show’ out
India’s Access entry Chhelo Show (The Last Film Show) was shortlisted in the Foreign Film category, but bowed out in the final nominations. It has been beaten by Argentina, 1985. The film also beat ‘RRR’ in the Golden Globe Warrant for Best Picture in the Non-English Language category.

These Indian films out of the race
Talking about the Oscars, RRR, Last Film Show, The Kashmir Files, Gangubai Kathiawadi and Kantara have all been dropped from the Best Picture category. However, RRR’s song ‘Naatu Naatu’ has been nominated in Best Original Song. At the same time, two documentary movies ‘The Elephant Whispers’ and ‘All Debt Breeds’ have also been made. In all, three films from India are now left in the race to win the Oscars.
