Pornography Case: Raj Kundra’s lawyer said that the arrest was illegal, said – will approach the High Court

Raj Kundra, husband of Shilpa Shetty, who was arrested in the pornography case, was produced by the Mumbai Crime Branch in the magistrate court on Friday and asked to extend the remand. There is not a single video that can be called obscene. 4000 page charge sheet filed but police is not able to show any explicit sexual act in the video which shows illegality under 67A. According to ANI, the Mumbai Police told the court that they suspect that Raj Kundra had invested money earned from pornography in online betting, which is why they were moving between Raj Kundra’s Yash Bank account and the United Bank of Africa account. Raj Kundra’s police remand extended till July 27

Raj Kundra’s name was associated in this case after the police arrested Umesh Kamat of Kenrin, a UK production company. In February, police raided a bungalow on Mud Island and busted a live porn video filmmaking racket. Several arrests were made and former Raj Kundra employee Umesh Kamat was accused of uploading at least eight ‘pornographic and obscene’ videos shot by Gehna Vashisht on the social media app.

The police had said in its statement that Raj Kundra was involved in the streaming of porn films and videos through the ‘Hotshots’ app. This app has been removed from mobile platforms. Raj Kundra supplied porn content through his office Viaan Industries in the UK. Kundra also told the police that he had sold the app in 2019 for $25,000, or about Rs 18 lakh. The police further added that they have evidence against Raj Kundra. He has got many clips from Raj Kundra’s office.
