Baijnath temple located in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh is not a Ravana temple but a Jyotirlinga of Lord Shiva. Ravana and some mythological stories associated with this site are included. Some believe that Ravana worshiped Shiva at this place for a long time and hence, a temple was built at the same place to mark the historical event. While it is also believed that once Ravana was going from Baijnath to Lanka with a Shivling in his hands. But, some deities along with them tricked them into asking them to keep Shivling at the same place. As a result, the Shivling was permanently installed, although Ravana tried hard to remove it, but the Shivling did not move from its place.
