Tamil Nadu Chunav Result LIVE: DMK found majority in trends in Tamil Nadu, ahead in 116 seats

The counting of the assembly elections in Tamil Nadu is going on. DMK alliance continues to lead in the early trends. Out of 234 assembly seats, this alliance has an edge over 134 seats while the ruling AIADMK-led NDA coalition has gained 95 seats. Keep in mind that in the last assembly election of 2016, AIADMK got 136 seats while opposition DMK got 89 seats. The Congress party then got one seat on account of 8 while others.

The main four factions of political parties in Tamil Nadu

Various parties are contesting elections in Tamil Nadu mainly under the banner of four coalitions. The Secular Progressive Alliance (SPA) is headed by M.K. Stalin, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is headed by E. Palaniswamy, Amma Makkal Munnetra Kazhagam (AMMK) is led by TTK Dinakaran while Makkalin Mudhal Kutani (MMK) is led by Actor Kamal Hassan. At the same time, parties like NTK, BSP, PTK and CPI (ML) L are not involved in any alliance. The Seeman-led name Tamilar Kachi (NTK) has given its candidates in all 234 seats. At the same time, Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) is contesting 160 seats, Putiya Tamilgam (PTK) 6 and Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation in 12 seats.


Who has how many seats in NDA

The NDA includes parties such as AIADMK, PMK, BJP, TMC (M), PTMK, TMMK, MMK, AIMMK, PBK and PDK. Among these, AIADMK 179, PMK 23, BJP 20, TMC (M) 6 and the remaining parties have fielded their candidates in 1-1 seats.

Which party has how many candidates in SPA

The SPA includes DMK, Congress, CPI, CPI (M), VCK, MDMK, IUML, KMDK, MMK, AIFB, TVK, MVK and ATP. Of these, DMK 173, Congress 25, CPI, CPI (M), VCK and MDMK have contested 6–6 seats. At the same time, IUML and KMDK have given their candidates for 3–3, MMK 2 while AIFB, TVK, MVK and ATP have won 1–1 seats.

Results will be special for DMK
The results of the assembly elections were ruled by the ruling AIADMK government and main opposition M.K. Stalin-led DMK is quite important. In today’s counting of votes, the fate of a total of 3,998 candidates is going to be decided. According to the Election Commission, out of 6.29 crore voters, 72.81 percent voters cast their votes.
