The Adalaj Stepwell is a magnificent structure that has been splendidly built to prevent the water crisis in and around Adalaj Village. The stepwell is located at a distance of 3 to 4 kilometers to the south-west of Gandhinagar, the capital of Gujarat. The Adalaj Stepwell was built in 1498. It is believed that the project for the stepwell was started by a Vaghela ruler named Rana Veer Singh for the welfare of his subjects. The Adalaj Stepwell exhibits a wonderful Solanki style of architecture, which is five storeys deep, where tourists can walk down the stairs. You can visit the Adalaj Stepwell between 9 am to 5:30 pm.

It is one of the most popular places to visit in Gandhinagar. The temple is a purely religious place where lakhs of tourists come here to visit. Akshardham Temple, built in 1992, is specially dedicated to Lord Swaminarayan and various incarnations and saints of Hinduism. The temple is known to house 200 sculptures of Hindu gods and goddesses, so much so that the beautiful traditional structure of the temple is one of the most famous examples of fine craftsmanship. This is a non-sectarian temple in Gandhinagar. The distinct influence of Jainism, Vaishnavism and Shaivism makes this temple unique, distinctive and one of the most important places to visit in Gandhinagar. The temple is divided into different sections which contain the idols of Mahavira, Shiva and Vishnu and various avatars. The entire temple is surrounded by a lush garden, classic wooden benches and a beautiful huge fountain. The temple complex also includes an informational museum and a mini theatre, where you can learn about the history of these cultures. The temple opens from 5:30 am to 10 pm.

Dandi Kutir Museum Gandhinagar – Dandi Kutir Museum Gandhinagar

This museum is entirely dedicated to the struggle of Mahatma Gandhi in the Indian nationalist movement, due to which it holds a historical significance. As the name suggests, the museum chronicles the role of Gandhi in the Civil Disobedience Movement. The Dandi March was a turning point in the history of colonial India, and the museum provides a detailed depiction of the entire event. Not only this, the museum contains many paintings, memoirs and relics of Gandhiji, which he used during his freedom struggle. Here the fee is 10 rupees for Indians and 200 rupees for foreign tourists. Between 10:30 to 5:30 you can go here for a walk.
